Drugs case: Shovik Chakraborty re-filed bail plea

Actress Riya Chakraborty's brother Shovik Chakraborty has filed a bail application in the DRUS case related to the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput case. Citing a decision of the Supreme Court, Shovik has filed a petition in the Special NDPS Court of Mumbai.

Shovik's bail plea was rejected by the sessions court and Bombay High Court. Now in the bail application filed by Shovik's lawyer Satish Manashinde, it has been said that the statements can no longer be considered admissible evidence after the Supreme Court verdict. All the statements have been recorded under Section 67 of the NDPS Act and the statements of the accused cannot be used as a confession during the trial.
Let me tell you that recently a bench of three-judges of the Supreme Court passed an order with the vote of two each. In which it has been said that the statements of the accused recorded under Section 67 of the NDPS Act cannot be used as a confession during the trial. In such cases, concrete evidence will be needed.
A month ago, Bombay High Court rejected Shovek's bell. Riya Chakraborty was given a bail. Both were arrested by the NCB in the drugs case in September.
