Mumbai Police Questioned Anurag Kashyap More Than Eight Hours In Rape Case

Anurag Kashyap has denied the allegations leveled against him. He, along with two of his colleagues, arrived at the Versova police station at around 10 am and left the station at around 6 pm.

MUMBAI: Police on Thursday questioned the director Anurag Kashyap for more than eight hours in the case of rape filed by actress Payal Ghosh. The officer said that Anurag Kashyap along with two of his colleagues reached Versova police station at around 10 am. During this, Anurag was seen carrying some documents in his hand. His lawyer also reached the police station after some time. The officer said that the filmmakers went out of the police station at around 6 pm.

The officer said that after filing a complaint, a medical examination was conducted for Payal Ghosh. The actress had lodged a case against Kashyap at Versova police station on 22 September. He has alleged that Kashyap raped her in 2013. Anurag Kashyap has denied all the allegations.

The police have registered a case against Kashyap under sections 376 (I) (rape), 354 (assault on a woman for breach of shame), 341 (imprisonment) and 342 (wrongful confinement) of the IPC.

Payal Ghosh, along with Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, met Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday and appealed for action against the director.
